Friday Faves

Hi friends! Happy Friday <3 I hope you’ve had an ok week and are enjoying the morning. This week felt like a weird one, right?! I slept horribly all week (full moon what) and got a strange rash all over my neck, torso, and one spot on my hand. My doc still isn’t sure what caused the rash but it seems to be *knock on wood* on the way out. At least it hasn’t gotten worse in 48 hours? I just didn’t need anything extra to test my character right now lol.

Another piece of the week: I’ve been trying to get dressed and put on a little makeup every day. After wearing purely sweats and athletic clothes for about 7 weeks, I was just feeling blah and down. I thought if I at least put on some jean shorts each day, it might put a little pep in my step and bring a tiny smidge of normalcy (<— I cling to anything that feels the slightest bit *normal* right now). It has absolutely helped. We’re talking super casual because there’s no reason to wear a sundress and wedges while trying to teach Liv square roots (yes, they’re doing square roots in second grade) and supervise P while she pretends the house is her personal ninja course.

In the standard Friday spirit, here are some faves from the week and around the web! I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section below.

Read, watch, listen:

New episode of Some Good News.

YAY Disney Singalong this weekend.

The reason why our brains are foggy lately.

Brb crying.

When small things are everything.

House and life:

A crazy story: I lost the Pilot’s wallet. He got home from a trip and put his keys and wallet on top of my car in the garage. I didn’t see them and left with the girls to get donuts one morning. We were driving on the main road out of our neighborhood, I heard a thunk, and saw something fly off my back window that looked like a piece of wood. I was SO confused because I knew I hadn’t hit anything and it took a couple of minutes to realize that it was the Pilot’s wallet. I circled around the street 4 times and couldn’t see it anywhere. The Pilot also walked on the side of the road, in 105 degree heat, looking for the wallet for probably an hour. We thought it was a lost cause until someone returned it to my mom’s house!!! (Her address was on one of his IDs since we move so often.) YAY for good samaritans! Everything was in the wallet even though it had obviously been run over by a car or twelve.

(Yes, we still ended up getting donuts.)

Working with Havenly! I’ve mentioned this on the blog a couple of times, but we worked with Havenly last summer to redesign our formal living room. I wanted it to be more welcoming and “put together” instead of hodge podge pieces from us moving from house to house.

Natalie really helped us with a cohesive design and I love that it’s more bright and welcoming! Instead of ordering everything at once, I waited and added things to the collection over time. Since we added the photo gallery, photo ledges, and Frida (our enormous Fiddle Leaf Fig), it’s finally finished!

We’re currently working with Natalie again on our master bedroom and I’m so excited with the concept that she designed. I’ll definitely report back once we get everything together. If you want to try out Havenly – it’s SO amazing for full designs or mini tweaks to update a current room, you can use my link for $50 off a full or $20 off a mini package.

Fashion + beauty:

I’m going to be co-hosting a webinar with Tina and Arsy on Monday all about the Beautycounter opportunity.

This has been such a gamechanger for my business! It’s added an additional full revenue stream and given me the opportunity to connect with amazing women and work with a company I truly believe in. If you’re interested in learning more about what it entails, sign up for the webinar here! We’ll also be sending out a replay if you can’t attend it live.

Click here to sign up! I’d love to see ya in there.

Fitness + good eats:

The Sakara Life cookbook. I was going to order some of their meal delivery but decided to try out the cookbook first and see if I liked the food. The photos are gorgeous and I love that the cookbook doesn’t include extremely obscure ingredients. Many of them are more labor-intensive, but I can’t wait to try out a couple this weekend!

Not a fave: the Body by Simone App. I got 3-month access as a Beautycounter incentive but I tried a couple of workouts and was underwhelmed. The workouts didn’t seem very purposeful or structured (I can’t help but compare everything to the gold standard that is Les Mills. You can still use my link for 21 days free!) and this probably has to do with music rights, but the music isn’t great. More of my fave fitness apps are here!

These curry noodle bowls look amaaaazing.

Bodyweight home workout.

Core and leg burning workout.

Happy Friday, friends!
